Den \u00f8kende eksporten gjennom utenlandskabler og ekstreme kraftpriser i S\u00f8r-Norge har f\u00f8rt til et presset kraftmarked. Dette skjer samtidig som den norske regjeringen fremmer vindkraft og havvind som l\u00f8sninger p\u00e5 klimautfordringer, til tross for sterk lokal motstand og protester fra en rekke ordf\u00f8rere. Regjeringen har svart med \u00e5 tilby nye skatteregler for \u00e5 tiltrekke kommuner til \u00e5 akseptere disse utbyggingene, men ordningene m\u00f8tes med bekymring for at de vil p\u00e5f\u00f8re naturen betydelige inngrep uten n\u00f8dvendigvis \u00e5 gi stabil forsyning.<\/p>\n<p>I stedet for \u00e5 adressere dagens utfordringer med balansekraft og regulering av energinettet, synes regjeringen \u00e5 g\u00e5 i retning av en videre utbygging av vindkraft \u2013 som skaper utfordringer n\u00e5r energien ikke kan leveres stabilt og forutsigbart. Vindkraftens milj\u00f8belastning er ogs\u00e5 et omstridt tema. Ustabil produksjon, store arealkrav, risiko for mikroplastforurensning og tap av naturomr\u00e5der utgj\u00f8r alle betydelige milj\u00f8messige konsekvenser. I tillegg binder produksjonen og vedlikeholdet av vindturbiner store mengder energi, metaller og ressurser som gj\u00f8r at dens positive klimaeffekt ofte er lavere enn antatt. Dette gjelder b\u00e5de grunnvarme til oppvarming og dyp geotermisk energi til elektrisitetsproduksjon. Teknologien for \u00e5 utnytte jordens egen varme er godt etablert og benyttes allerede i andre deler av verden med stor suksess. Geotermisk energi byr p\u00e5 store fordeler i form av stabil og kontinuerlig energiforsyning, sv\u00e6rt lav milj\u00f8belastning og en betydelig lavere p\u00e5virkning p\u00e5 naturlige landskap sammenlignet med vindkraft. Dessuten har Norge unik kompetanse innen boreteknologi og offshoreoperasjoner, noe som kan sette landet i en s\u00e6rposisjon for utvikling og bruk av geotermisk energi i industriell skala.<\/p>\n<p>Potensialet i geotermisk energi, s\u00e6rlig i Nordsj\u00f8en og p\u00e5 land, er enormt. Ved \u00e5 bore ned i berggrunnen kan vi n\u00e5 temperaturer p\u00e5 mellom 150 og 190 \u00b0C, som er ideelle for elektrisitetsproduksjon, ogs\u00e5 i kombinasjon med moderne teknologier som superkritisk CO\u2082 som varmeoverf\u00f8ringsmedium. Disse systemene kan produsere energi ved lavere temperaturer og benytte spillvarme fra industri. The argument focuses on other, potentially larger, sources of pollution, distracting from the issue at hand. Many of the data used to support this claim comes from the wind industry itself, which has financial interests in minimizing the perceived impact of its operations. This tactic diverts attention from the industry's own environmental contributions.<\/p>\n<p>The key issue with microplastic pollution is the accumulation of particles from all sources. Microplastics don't break down and contribute to a growing environmental burden. These particles carry harmful chemicals into organisms' digestive systems, and once inside, it doesn't matter where they came from\u2014it's the total quantity that causes harm. The \"Billy goats argument\" argument fails because it ignores the broader picture of microplastic pollution, undermining efforts to address its cumulative effects.<\/p>\n<p>Many environmental toxins become more dangerous when combined, a phenomenon known as the \"cocktail effect.\" The EU's Chemical Agency (ECHA) has acknowledged this and proposed stronger restrictions on bisphenols. However, significant exemptions are still given to epoxy composites, a major source of bisphenol-containing microplastics. Norges Milj\u00f8vernforbund\u2019s consultation response highlights the issue of these exemptions for industries responsible for most emissions, calling them highly problematic.<\/p>\n<p>The wind energy industry claims minimal wear from turbine blades, yet maintenance processes involve sanding the blades outdoors, releasing microplastics into the environment. Meanwhile, the industry seeks funding to develop more durable materials to address erosion and aerodynamic issues. Despite downplaying the microplastic issue, the problem is significant enough for the industry to request substantial research funds, highlighting that its focus is on economic loss rather than
