The Norwegian Environmental Protection Association reports yet another escape of farmed salmon

This time it is Slakteriet Brekke A/S and its general manager who are being reported for the escape of 17,200 farmed salmon from a holding cage in Gulen Municipality. Large quantities of this salmon were also infected with the disease  Pancreatic Disease (PD). This is particularly serious, as this sick salmon which is now on its way up the rivers near the escape will also naturally infect the wild salmon which are now in the rivers, with a fatal outcome. PD is a disease that attacks the pancreas, and the salmon will eventually die from the disease.
