The Danish Environmental Protection Association reacts strongly to Cermaq Norge's desire for farming in a uniquely vulnerable area

The Norwegian Environmental Protection Association (NMF) reacts strongly to Cermaq Norge's desire to establish a breeding facility outside a unique marine vulnerable area.

The Norwegian Environmental Protection Association has today submitted a hearing objection against Cermaq Norge's application for the establishment of a new breeding facility in Sagfjorden, Hamarøy Municipality.

The Sagfjord has already been heavily burdened by fish farms, and in NMF's opinion is about to be destroyed as a healthy and good fjord, with previously very good fish stocks. According to local fishermen, this is already happening with the intensity of farming that is already in the fjord.

Now Cermaq Norge wants to fill up the fjord with another plant. And this time right outside a very special area with 7 different tidal currents, which is planned as a marine conservation area.
