NMF strongly opposes Midt-Norsk Havbruk's application for expanded biomass

Midt-Norsk Havbruk and Bjørøya have applied to expand the biomass on the site from 3120 MTB to 7020 MTB. The Norwegian Environmental Protection Association strongly opposes Mid-Norsk Havbruk's application for the expansion of the biomass at location 36457 Kvingra, in Leka Municipality.

NMF sees that such an expansion will lead to more than a doubling of the bio-mass that is already on the site, which in turn will lead to more than twice as much discharge of fish droppings and feed waste. Over time, such large emissions from the plant will surely lead to the accumulation of large amounts of dung under the plant.
